There’s something wrong with big companies, governments, and non-profits. ... North of 100 people in a company, employees don’t all know each other. Politics become important. Incentives change. Signaling that work is being done may become more important than actually doing work. These costs are almost always underestimated. ... Anyone on a mission tends to want to go from 0 to 1. Führungsgruppen in Organisationen sind zunehmend an eigenen Interessen, persönlichem Nutzen – insbesondere sichergestellt durch den Erhalt der Organisation – interessiert. Die einstigen Ziele der Gruppe, an deren Spitze sie stehen, treten so in den Hintergrund. Führungsgruppen versuchen demnach, die soziale Basis, die „Massen“, zu lenken, selbst dann, wenn die herrschende Ideologie dieser Gruppierungen das Gegenteil anstrebt.
